2nd of October and its significance in History of India

2 nd of October is not an ordinary day for people of India but a day of great importance.   It is not just another date. Its importance is not related to someone individual but collectively.   2 nd of October is a national holiday for people of India. It is one of the three official declared national holidays of India, observed in all of its states and union territories. Dry day is also observed on this day throughout the country. That means something good must had happened in past for India. Mahatma Gandhi, the father of our nation, the freedom fighter for India, the great son of Mother  India, was born on 2 nd of October. His birthday is celebrated as “Gandhi Jayanti” on 2 nd October every year. A national holiday is also celebrated to mark the occasion.
